Preferences are app-wide settings that control how SERP Lens looks and behaves across every window and tab. Unlike the browser settings panel, which applies per-tab overrides like user-agent or device emulation, Preferences are configured once and persist globally. Open Preferences from the in-app account and settings area.
Looking for per-tab browser settings like user-agent, device emulation, or Google search parameters? See Browser settings.

General

Theme

Choose between light, dark, or system theme. When set to system, SERP Lens follows your operating system’s appearance setting and switches automatically.

Stats bar

Show performance stats at the bottom of the browser. When enabled, the stats bar displays nine metrics for the currently loaded page so you can monitor performance and on-page SEO without opening a panel.
MetricDescription
FCPFirst Contentful Paint — when the first content paints on screen
LCPLargest Contentful Paint — when the largest element finishes rendering
CLSCumulative Layout Shift — visual stability of the page
INPInteraction to Next Paint — responsiveness to user input
LinksTotal number of links on the page
WordsWord count of the page’s visible text
ImagesTotal number of images on the page
CanonicalCanonical URL status for the page
IndexabilityWhether the page is indexable by search engines

Highlight mode

Set the default page element highlighting in the browser. When a highlight mode is active, SERP Lens visually highlights elements of that category on every page you load.
OptionDescription
NoneDisable all highlighting
Internal linksHighlight links that point to the current origin
External linksHighlight links that point to a different origin
Nofollow linksHighlight links marked with rel="nofollow"
Broken linksHighlight links that fail to resolve
HeadingsHighlight all heading elements (h1h6)
H1 tagsHighlight only h1 elements
Lazy imagesHighlight images with loading="lazy"
You can also switch highlight mode ad-hoc for the current tab by right-clicking any page and opening the Highlight submenu. See Right-click context menu for the full reference. Preferences sets the default highlight mode that applies to every new page you load.
