Rank tracking credits are the units SERP Lens uses to track keyword rankings. Your plan (and any add-ons) give you a total limit of ranking credits. When you add or change tracked keywords, the app checks that the required credits for your setup do not exceed your available credits (total limit minus what you’ve already used).

How credits are calculated

Credits depend on refresh interval, device, number of keywords, and number of locations. Use this formula to estimate usage before adding keywords: Required credits = Base credits × Device multiplier × Keywords × Locations

Base credits (refresh interval)

Each refresh interval has a fixed base credit cost per keyword-location-device per cycle. More frequent updates cost more credits.
Refresh intervalBase credits per cycle
Daily31
Weekly4
Monthly1
The base value represents how often SERP Lens checks rankings. Daily tracking uses 31 credits per keyword-location-device combination per month; weekly uses 4; monthly uses 1.

Device multiplier

The device setting multiplies the base credits:
DeviceMultiplier
Desktop only1
Mobile only1
Both2
Choosing Both tracks the same keyword in desktop and mobile search results, so it counts as two combinations and doubles the credits for that keyword and location.

Keywords and locations

  • Keywords: Each keyword you add is multiplied by the base credits and the device and location counts.
  • Locations: Each location (e.g. United States, United Kingdom) multiplies the total. Adding more locations increases credits proportionally.

Example calculations

Use the formula to estimate credits before adding keywords:
1

Single keyword, one location, desktop, daily

Base (31) × Device (1) × Keywords (1) × Locations (1) = 31 credits.
2

Single keyword, one location, both devices, daily

Base (31) × Device (2) × Keywords (1) × Locations (1) = 62 credits.
3

10 keywords, 2 locations, desktop, daily

Base (31) × Device (1) × Keywords (10) × Locations (2) = 620 credits.
4

5 keywords, 1 location, both devices, weekly

Base (4) × Device (2) × Keywords (5) × Locations (1) = 40 credits.
Use Weekly or Monthly refresh when you don’t need day-by-day changes. They use far fewer credits than Daily and are often enough for trend analysis.

How your balance is tracked

  • Total limit: Your subscription plan and any add-ons define your ranking credit limit. You can see this in your account or billing area.
  • Used credits: SERP Lens sums the credit cost of every keyword you track, using each keyword’s refresh interval, device, and locations). That total is your used ranking credits.
  • Available credits: Available = Total limit − Used. You can add or change keywords only when the new total required does not exceed your available credits.
When adding keywords would exceed your balance, the app shows an error such as: Insufficient credits (X needed, Y available). To stay within your limit: use fewer keywords or locations, choose Desktop or Mobile only instead of Both, or switch to Weekly or Monthly refresh.
Your usage updates as you add or remove keywords. Removing keywords or lowering refresh frequency frees credits for new tracking.

Troubleshooting

Your current selection (keywords × locations × device × refresh interval) needs more credits than you have available. Try one or more of:
  • Fewer keywords or locations
  • Desktop or Mobile only instead of Both
  • Weekly or Monthly instead of Daily If you need more capacity, check your plan and add-ons for additional ranking credits.
You can see your available ranking credits in the app when you add or edit keywords. Your plan and add-ons set your total limit; the app subtracts the cost of your current keywords to show what’s left.
